SCI 270 Introduction to Social Determinants of Health

Discussions, activities and readings to understand the social factors that impact someone’s ability to receive healthcare and how to help. Students will learn about geographic, economic and demographic barriers. A strong focus will be on finding and navigating community resources and best practices to support patients and families. Mandatory P/NC grading.
Prerequisite Required: Bachelor Degree or permission of instructor.
