ENGR 202 Digital Logic with Programmable Devices Minimum Units: 5 Maximum Units: 5 Introduction to the basic components of logic circuits. Design and analysis of combinational and sequential logic circuits using relevant theorems, mathematical models, and hardware description language. Includes exposure to modern methods and design tools. Prerequisite Required: CS 110 or CS& 141 or ENGR 102 , with a grade of 2.0 or better. - Explain basic terminology related to electronic circuits and digital circuits.
- Demonstrate knowledge of binary state terminology, CMOS circuits and symbols, basic logic functions and logic circuits.
- Analyze and design small scale combinational logic circuits.
- Minimize and optimize combinational circuit designs.
- Use relevant tools, technologies, and software for the analysis and design of logic circuits.
- 6. Incorporate medium scale integrated circuits (such as decoders, multiplexers, shifters, and comparators) into circuit design.
- Build arithmetic circuits including adders, subtractors, multipliers, and ALUs (arithmetic and logic units).
- Analyze circuit delays and timing defects in combinational logic circuits.
- Use basic memory circuits and devices including flip-flops, latches, registers, and counters.
- Analyze and design sequential circuits.
