CS 110 Introduction to Programming Minimum Units: 5 Maximum Units: 5 Use a computer language such as Python to learn programming, problem solving, analysis, modular design & debugging - concepts for all programming languages. No prior programming experience needed. Topics: syntax, classes, data types, control flow, loops, if, procedures, parameters, output & arrays. Previously: CS 121 Prerequisite Required: Placement into ENGL& 101 . - Develop solutions to small-scale problems given an algorithm, such as computing the cost of an item dependent on a few variable choices or calculating and applying a curve to a classroom of grades.
- Identify and use programming language constructs such as sequence, selection, iteration, and procedures.
- Examine and compare reasoning, design, and effectiveness of alternative solutions.
- Recognize and use test cases to verify that solutions meet specifications.
- Identify and explain syntax, semantics, and practical effects of programming statements and procedures.
