ENGL& 101 English Composition I

Students write in various forms and modes, displaying focus, organization, appropriate style, and technical control. They develop skills in critical thinking and close reading of texts and respond in writing and discussion to assigned topics.
Prerequisite Required: Completion of ENGL 99  or equivalent with a 2.0 or better, or placement into ENGL& 101, or instructor permission.

Course Learning Outcomes:

  • Integrate sources using summary, paraphrase, quotations, and citation techniques to accurately acknowledge the work of others.
  • Demonstrate how race and personal, social, historical, and cultural contexts influence the work of diverse authors, including that of the student.
