ENGR& 114 Engineering Graphics Minimum Units: 5 Maximum Units: 5 Development of 2D and 3D visualization skills, fundamentals of orthographic projection, isometric and engineering drawings and dimensioning using hand sketching, AutoCAD, and Solid Works. Prerequisite Required: ENGL 99 or equivalent, and MATH 99 , with grades of 2.0 or better, or instructor permission. - Use professional quality solid modeling software to generate, layout, scale, and edit engineering drawings.
- Develop 2D and 3D visualization skills.
- Produce parametric solid models of mechanical parts and assemblies, and produce working drawings using current engineering standards.
- Measure lines using engineering, metric and architect scales.
- Construct geometric designs utilizing proper procedures.
- Draw and interpret orthographic, isometric, section and auxiliary views.
- Draw, dimension, and interpret engineering drawings.
- Apply descriptive geometry principles to the solution of engineering problems.
- Understand basic vocabulary associated with engineering and drafting.
- Use technical sketching and computer-aided design software to communicate design information.
