BTWRT 115 Business English Minimum Units: 5 Maximum Units: 5 Review of vocabulary, punctuation, grammar, and current formats of business correspondence. Write business correspondence, a resume, and cover letter using Standard English. Research topics using web technology and standard references to prepare presentation. Prerequisite Required: Placement in ENGL 99 or equivalent or successful completion EAP 90 or equivalent with a 2.0 or better. Recommended: Microsoft Word and Internet experience. - Write sentences, paragraphs, letters and short reports.
- Explain readings related to consumer issues, safety, and other business-related topics
- Write a resume that includes education, work, and volunteer experience in an acceptable resume format.
- Prepare and deliver an oral presentation on a business-related topic.
- Apply knowledge of sentence and paragraph construction that incorporates correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation usage using Standard English.
- Use current industry-standard formats for business correspondence.
