EAP 90 English for Academic Purposes B Minimum Units: 10 Maximum Units: 10 Students continue to refine their academic reading and writing skills. This course emphasizes content-based reading and writing for academic purposes, including a variety of rhetorical styles. Students read and respond to a variety of texts while building academic vocabulary. Prerequisite Required: Successful completion of the previous level or appropriate placement on the Shoreline ELL placement test. - Demonstrate comprehension of level-appropriate texts, including main ideas and/or supporting details, and inferences within a text.
- Produce level-appropriate writing in which the development, organization, grammar, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.
- Use a range of general academic and level-specific words and phrases.
