NURSE 204 Fostering a Culture of Physical & Psychological Safety in Healthcare Seminar - 11 Qtr

This course will focus on fostering a healthy workplace and the psychological stress nurses experience working in healthcare. The course includes learning skills to identify and respond to these workplace stressors. Students will develop an understanding of healthy workplace cultures, lateral violence, workplace violence, and moral distress. Students will learn about ethical conflicts in healthcare that can contribute to moral distress. Students will be able to practice verbal de-escalation and strategies for responding to incivility in the workplace. Equivalent to NURS 204.
Prerequisite Required: Admission to the nursing program.
