AES 103 Introduction to African American Studies Minimum Units: 5 Maximum Units: 5 This course offers an introduction to the discipline of African American Studies. Using an African centered approach this course will examine the history, literature, and culture of those of African descent in the United States. Additionally, it will examine the sociological, political, economic, public policy, and philosophical perspectives on the Black/African American experience. The contributions, experiences, and culture of Black/African American individuals will be recognized and validated.
