This laboratory course focuses on the laboratory techniques and practical applications of recombinant DNA techniques, including the polymerase chain reaction, gene cloning with plasmid and viral vectors, regulation of recombinant protein expression in bacterial and mammalian systems, SDS-PAGE and Western blot, and uses of CRISPR/Cas9.
Prerequisite Required: BIOL 270 with a grade of 1.8 or better, or instructor permission.
