NURS 143 Nursing Practice & Complex Health Disturbances I Minimum Units: 6 Maximum Units: 6 Third course in the nursing sequence with emphasis on hospitalized patients with complex health disturbances. Focus is on the surgical experience, fluid, electrolyte and acid-base balance, respiratory, cardiac, neurological, immunological, cancer, gastrointestinal, endocrine, and sensory disturbances. Prerequisite Required: NURS 142 , NURS 152 , and NURS 162 with 2.0 or higher or advanced placement LPN entry.
