NURS 204 Fostering a Culture of Physical & Psychological Safety in Healthcare Seminar Minimum Units: .5 Maximum Units: .5 Fourth seminar course in six-part series for enrolled nursing students. The focus of this course will be on fostering a healthy workplace and the psychological stress nurses experience working in healthcare. The course includes learning skills to both identify and how to respond to these workplace stressors. Students will develop an understanding of healthy workplace cultures, lateral violence, workplace violence, and moral distress. Students will learn about ethical conflicts in healthcare that can contribute to moral distress. Students will be able to practice verbal de-escalation and strategies of responding to incivility in the workplace. Prerequisite Required: Prerequsites: NURS 101 , NURS 102 , NURS 103 , NURS 121 , NURS 141 , NURS 142 , NURS 143 , each with a grade of Pass/2.0 or higher.
