MUSTC 142 Tech Music Theory 2

Further study of reading, writing and listening to music. Topics include major scale construction, key signature notation and identification, rhythm and aural skills.
Prerequisite Required: MUSTC 141 with a grade of P or 2.0 or better, or instructor permission. Concurrent enrollment in MUSTC 191 is required.

Course Learning Outcomes:
- Notate all major scales through (4) sharps and (2) flats.
- Notate and identify major key signatures through (4) sharps and (2) flats.
- Notate rhythm utilizing whole, half, quarter, and eighth notes.
- Aurally identify common instruments used in contemporary genres.
