MUSTC 242 Tech Music Theory 5

Application of music theory concepts to contemporary music. Intermediate ear training, harmony, rhythm, and melody are examined. The course is designed primarily for students enrolled in the Music Technology Program.
Prerequisite Required: MUSTC 241  with a grade of P or 2.0 or better.

Course Learning Outcomes:
  • Build on ability to identify intervals and chords by sight and sound.
  • Identify song form from audio examples.
  • Identify timbral elements of traditional musical instruments.
  • Listen and respond to ideas and reactions generated by the study of contemporary music in a group setting.
