MUSTC 163 MIDI Drum Programming Minimum Units: 2 Maximum Units: 2 Students learn to program drumbeats using available MIDI devices. A variety of styles and approaches are presented to develop skill in both real-time and step entry programming. Instruction is balanced between demonstration and hands-on learning. Prerequisite Required: MUSTC 151 or instructor permission. - Program MIDI drums using real and step-time data entry.
- Use various control surfaces to program MIDI drum patterns.
- Program MIDI data to emulate acoustic drums with fills and anticipations in both shuffle and straight grooves.
- Use looping techniques to program MIDI drums in emulative and creative patterns.
- Create a MIDI drum pattern library and use it in a MIDI music production.
