MUSTC 143 Tech Music Theory 3 Minimum Units: 3 Maximum Units: 3 Focus on intermediate reading, writing and listening to music. Topics include minor scale construction, triad construction, rhythm, and aural skills. Prerequisite Required: MUSTC 142 with a grade of P or 2.0 or better, or instructor permission. - Notate and identify minor scales in the following keys: C, G, D, A, E, F and Bb.
- Notate and identify the basic four types of triads: major, minor, diminished, and augmented.
- Aurally identify song forms such as blues, verse-refrain-bridge.
- Increase ability to sight read intervals and triads used in contemporary music construction.
- Aurally identify major, minor, diminished, and augmented triads.
