MATH& 163 Calculus 3 Minimum Units: 5 Maximum Units: 5 Infinite series & the calculus of vector-valued functions and functions of several variables. Sequences, series, Taylor series, vector products, lines, planes, space curves, level curves & surfaces, partial derivatives, chain rules, tangent planes, gradient & directional derivatives. - Evaluate the limit of a sequence and determine whether a series converges or diverges.
- Compute Taylor series and their radii of convergence.
- Find equations of lines and planes in three-space and perform basic computations.
- Compute and interpret the velocity and acceleration vectors of a vector-valued function.
- Compute and interpret first and second order partial derivatives.
- Compute and apply directional derivatives and the gradient.
