MATH& 152 Calculus II Minimum Units: 5 Maximum Units: 5 Definition, interpretation, and application of the definite integral. The Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, techniques of integration, definite integrals involving curves described parametrically, and introduction to separable differential equations. Prerequisite Required: MATH& 151 (2.0 or better). - Use the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus to evaluate definite integrals and solve applied problems involving functions defined as integrals.
- Evaluate definite, indefinite, and improper integrals using numerical, analytical, or integral tables as appropriate.
- Apply the definite integrals in application problems - including area between curves, arc length, average value, and volume of solids.
- Set up and solve separable differential equations.
- Use the definition of a definite integral and Reimann sums to set up and evaluate definite integrals.
- Graph polar equations and do application problems in polar coordinates.
