CECO 20 Foundations Language Arts Minimum Units: 1 Maximum Units: 3 In this course, students will be introduced to literary elements and rhetorical devices. They will also explore the ways in which English language conventions are employed in both fiction and nonfiction writing. Students will read excerpts, articles, and essays on various topics to practice identifying devices and conventions as well as to build their reading endurance. In this course, students will paraphrase fiction and nonfiction texts and share their personal reactions to the text through the written and spoken word.
