BIOL 275 Recombinant DNA Techniques Credits: 6 Basic course in the theory and concepts of recombinant DNA techniques. Course will focus on the methods of gene cloning with viral and plasmid vectors, growth and maintenance of E. coli, extraction and purification of DNA, polymerase chain reaction, and protein expression. The lab will focus on ‘hands on’ techniques. Student option grading. Prerequisite Required: BIOL 270 with 1.8 or better or permission. When Typically Offered: Winter
