CHEM 172 General-Inorganic Chemistry II Credits: 4 Second course of three quarters of Gen. Chem. for science and engineering majors. Topics include quantum numbers, orbitals, atomic periodicity, bonding theories, molecular shapes/polarity, liquids & solids, properties of solutions, and basic organic. Course includes lecture and seminar. This is the second of a three-course series. Mandatory decimal grading. Prerequisite Required: CHEM 171 /CHEM 181 with grades of 2.0 or better, and placement into ENGL& 101 , and placement into MATH& 141 , or instructor permission. Concurrently: Concurrent enrollment in CHEM 182 . When Typically Offered: Summer, Winter, Spring
