MUSTC 131 Digital Audio Production 1 Minimum Units: 3 Maximum Units: 3 Introduction to ProTools. Manipulate the two main windows in ProTools and learn basic work flows. - Describe an overview of ProTools digital audio workstation: history, terminology, hardware and software.
- Explain the basic software commands such as navigation, system commands, main workstation windows, edit tools and modes, time-base rulers, time scales, MIDI controls and file structure.
- Identify the parts of the ProTools digital audio workstation edit and mix windows and their use.
- Complete the production of a mix of a short song using the ProTools digital audio workstation.
- Complete the production of a video television commercial using the ProTools digital audio workstation.
- Listen and respond to ideas and reactions resulting from the use of ProTools digital audio workstations (DAW) in productions and the resulting aesthetics in group and individualized settings.
